This is a loan, not a scholarship
The Higher Education Students' Loans Board (HESLB) lends money for study in Tanzania. You repay it after you graduate. Many students use HESLB together with partly funded scholarships.
The last window
A news report on the 2026/27 launch said applications opened on 19 June 2026 with "at least two months" to apply. We have not confirmed the closing date. The next window (2027/28) has not been announced.
What to do
- Watch the HESLB website and social accounts around May and June each year.
- Read the guidelines for the year. They explain who qualifies, how need is assessed and what documents you need.
- Apply only through HESLB's official online system, which you reach from the official website.
- Keep your admission letter, certificates and ID documents ready as digital copies.
Careful: HESLB applications do not need a middleman. Be careful with anyone who asks you to pay for "faster" processing.
