What it is
The MEXT scholarship is paid for by Japan's Ministry of Education. The undergraduate track covers a bachelor's degree in natural science or social science at a Japanese university.
The last round in Tanzania
The Embassy of Japan in Tanzania ran the 2027 round with these dates:
- Applications: 21 April to 21 May 2026.
- Written exam: 3 June 2026. Interview: 23 June 2026 (both "subject to change").
- The embassy only does the first screening. The final decision is made in Japan, and a recommendation does not guarantee selection.
The next round is not announced. If it follows the same pattern, it would open in about April 2027, but please confirm on the embassy page.
